Patrick was born and raised on a sheep farm in Nannup.
Growing up he was well known to the locals, for playing his guitar and singing while riding his horse Chip and often referred to by the locals as their own Wild Colonial Boy.
At 17 he hosted his own teen music show Hey Jude and then moving to the east coast he co-hosted the Rolf Harris Show.
At 25 he went to the US and today he is still touring extensively in the USA , Canada, Asia and Australia, but he still calls Nannup home and until recently his parents still lived on the farm where he grow up.
He last played in Nannup in July last year, to a sell-out crowd at the Nannup Recreation Centre.
He has played at the amphitheatre before when he performed at the official opening of the Nannup Amphitheatre in February 2007, so it is fitting that he returns to play again at the amphitheatre this Australia Day.
