NATIONALS WA Federal Member for O'Connor Tony Crook will be travelling with a mobile electorate office and visiting constituents in Bridgetown, Katanning and Manjimup this week.
Mr Crook will attend the Big Aussie Breakfast at the Bridgetown Agricultural Showgrounds from 7.30am on Thursday.
While in the three towns Mr Crook said he would take the opportunity to meet with community leaders.
“The mobile electorate office is an open forum for any resident to come along and have a chat with me about issues that are impacting you and your community,” Mr Crook said.
“Mobile electorate offices give me a great chance to learn more about the grassroots issues in your town and they give local communities a chance to have their concerns heard at a federal level.”
Mr Crook said his itinerary was “jam-packed” for the week and would also include a side-trip to Kojonup and Boyup Brook to meet with constituents, before heading to Bridgetown in time for the Australia Day Breakfast and Citizenship Ceremony.
While in Bridgetown, Mr Crook will meet with Bridgetown resident Richard Lamb at 10am tomorrow at the Bridgetown Shire offices.
Mr Lamb launched last year's campaign to bring ABC's Radio National to Bridgetown and surrounding areas and Mr Crook has led the charge ever since.
Mr Crook will update Mr Lamb on what the ABC management has said thus far and what the next steps include.
Mr Crook presented a petition of more than 400 signatures and 120 postcards calling upon the ABC to expedite Radio National to Bridgetown.
Mr Crook said he always enjoyed heading into the South West and Great Southern regions.
“This is a truly beautiful part of the world, home to some driven and energetic communities, with some great projects,” he said.
Mr Crook encouraged residents wishing to visit him at his mobile electorate office to call his Albany office on 9847 4467 to make an appointment as time was limited.
