MUMBALLUP and Noggerup fire brigades recently received a refurbished light tanker each to bring their appliances up to the required standards.
Donnybrook-Balingup Shire ranger Bob Jeffreys said brigade members were currently being trained and becoming familiar with the workings of the new vehicles.
The vehicles were donated to the brigades by the Fire and Emergency Services Authority (FESA) under Emergency Services Levy (ESL) funding.
Mr Jeffreys said the new equipment had prompted landowners in the Mumballup and Noggerup areas to become members of their local bushfire brigade and attend training at the new Thomson Brook Bushfire Brigade Station.
Twelve people from the Mumballup, Lowden, Balingup and Argyle areas attended the first Tuesday night gap training session, which is aimed at filling in training for people who had previously missed sections of the program.
Tuesday night training is ongoing for the next seven weeks.
Anybody wishing to attend should call ranger Bob Jeffreys to enrol on 9780 4214.
