Picnic of support saves Gnomesville

27 Jan, 2012 02:52 PM
MORE than 200 people turned up to a picnic at Gnomesville on Australia Day to protect the gnomes after they were threatened earlier through a facebook page.

Picnic organiser Wendy Perdon said it was a great family day.

“Considering how hot it was I was impressed 200 people came,” she said.

“Some came out to see what the kerfuffle was and others were regulars who wanted to ensure it was kept safe.”

Mrs Perdon said the important thing was the gnomes were safe.
