‘Tania’s Girls’ concert plans are well underway

PLANNING for the ‘Tania’s Girls’ Benefit Concert, a major fundraising event for the daughters of the late Tania Marshall, is now well advanced.

The concert will be held at the Donnybrook Amphitheatre from 5pm to midnight on Saturday, December 20.

“The Shire is working closely with the community to provide the logistics needed to put the concert on at very short notice – but our job is being made easier by the huge support we are receiving from businesses in the South West,” Donnybrook-Balingup Shire President Steve Dilley said.

“Every dollar we receive, either in services or material, means a dollar more will be put into the trust fund set up to support Tania’s three daughters.”

The entertainment for the event are artists who will appeal to the whole family – Patrick McMahon, Cactus Jack, John Wilson, Steve Trigwell and Malcolm Miller, Danae Cornford and Damien Thornber and the Orphans, who have all agreed to perform for free.

“The auctions and raffles will be very popular on the night,” Mr Dilley said.

“We’ve already received a signed Fremantle Dockers jumper, which was donated by Gemmill Homes, a signed cricket bat from the Western Warriors and a signed jersey from the Peth Wildcats. “If you’re not a sports fan, you can bid or enter the raffles for one of the many other items such as a barbecue from Bunnings Bunbury, accommodation vouchers from a variety of places including the Burswood Resort and Casino and electrical goods from Retravision Bunbury.

“We have also received donations of $1000 each from Gemmill Homes, Julian Walters of WA Country Builders, and V&V Walsh.

“In addition, companies like X-DC PRO and Coastal Hire are providing the stage and other equipment.”

Mr Dilley said local community groups such as the Donnybrook Lions and Donnybrook Football Club had also agreed to help raise funds by selling food and drink on the night.

“All profits from these stalls will also go to the trust fund,” he said.

“We really hope the rest of the community gets behind the event and comes along to the concert.

“The entry ticket prices have been kept low to encourage families to attend.”

Tickets are available from the Donnybrook Newsagency and Shire Administration Office.
