DONNYBROOK Amateur Basketball Association starts the second half of the season on Tuesday, February 7.
Finals will be played in March for intermediate teams.
Juniors have no finals and scores are not recorded.
Intermediate scores, so far, are very close, with Blue/Grey just in front and the other five teams on equal points, according to association president Rick Anderson.
A meeting at 5pm on Tuesday, January 31, at the recreation centre will discuss the second half of the season and how to improve the competition, including a need for office bearers.
“We have our last fundraiser on Saturday, January 21, at IGA, with a car wash, a raffle for mulch and also $350 worth of car detailing, kindly donated by Donnybrook Panel Beaters, so all players and helpers should be at IGA by 8.30am,” Anderson said.
Anderson and wife Kym thanked all parents and volunteers for scoring, coaching and umpiring.
“We also thank Bill and Simon Brown for helping the association with their knowledge and skills and for coaching teams on Tuesday nights, plus helping with the three country championship teams, which will compete in Perth next month,” they said.
There are now 130 registered players on Tuesday nights at Donnybrook’s Recreation Centre, with six teams of mixed age and mixed sex juniors playing weekly, with games starting at 4.30pm and concluding at 7.30pm.
Mini-ball is from 3.30-4.30pm.
