Football team fires up 2012

24 Jan, 2012 12:20 PM
DONNYBROOK Football Club members are firing up for the new season with training, hard work and some community involvement.

Members of the 100 Club paid for goal posts for the three schools in Donnybrook and over the weekend, installed posts at the Bentley and Mead Street campuses of Donnybrook District High School, in time for the start of school on February 1.

Posts will be installed at St Mary’s in the near future.

South West football development officer Shane Atherton said he hoped the posts would help the schools to get involved in the club.

The boys from the football team, who can be spotted from time to time around town taking part in their regular training, will participate in the Australia Day Fun Run in Bunbury as a group.

The fun run will see the boys run around the inlet in forecast 39 degree Celsius heat.

The 2012 football season kicks off in April.
