Backing local football

WAYNE Sturges of the Donny-brook Pharmacy has become a sponsor of the Donnybrook Football Club in season 2009.

Even in these testing economic times, local businesses still have a responsibility to help local community bodies, Mr Sturges said.

The Donnybrook Football Club will field three senior and nine junior sides this year as well as one of the largest Auskick programs in the south-west.

“The costs of running the club never go down, and the generous sponsorship from Wayne and other local businesses make it a little bit easier for our volunteers to continue to provide the opportunities for kids, in particular, to play sport,” footy club president Alan Swarbrick said.
