FORTY-FOUR players contested Bridgetown Golf Club’s four-person ambrose game on Sunday, February 7.

Winners were Megan and Brendon Burvil, Chris and Mark Shedley with a score of 25 13/16.

Runners-up were Alan and Darren Wilson, Cliff Richings and Michael Bermingham with a score of 27 1/8.

Closest to pin 16 was Frans van Kamp-en and closest to pin 14, Brendon Burvil.

After the game many of the players stayed on to enjoy a barbecue,

The Timber Treaters “Sweepstake”, 18-hole competition will be played on Saturday, February 20. Registrations are at 11.30am. The $10 entry fee will include a sausage sizzle.

The game for Sunday February 21 will start at 3pm

The Generation Challenge, an 18-hole, two-person ambrose, will be played againon Saturday March 7.

Teams of two from different generations and from the same family, (ie parent- child, grandparent-grandchild, etc) are required to qualify to play. The $15 entry fee includes a barbecue dinner.

There will also be a separate ambrose event for the Unrelated Cup. This event is open to teams ineligible for the Generations Challenge.

Every one is welcome to play.

Sunday, February 7: club trophy – Stableford: P Wright 21, J Farrow, W Rees 19.

Greenbushes

GREENBUSHE S Golf Club’s Wednesday, February 3, game had the biggest turn -out of players so far this year, - 17 members turned out to face the challenge.

While the weather was cool, the scores were hot, with Brian Wright the winner with 29 stableford points.

Runner-up with 27 points was the consistent Brian Martin

Saturday, February 6, was another cool day, with 13 players trying their hand.

The club president Dave Malatzky, an infrequent player, won the day with an excellent score of 31 points, with Martin Downes first trip to the podium with a very credible 28 points earning him second place. I

In third place was John Lewis, while “Mr Consistent” Vern Blechynden took out fourth place.
