FITNESS Professional Paula Dobbs will be running free health and fitness sessions for women in February.
Thanks to the Lions Club of Donnybrook and with the aid of a Women’s Grant, Dobbs has been given the opportunity to offer a select number of free fitness and health sessions to local women.
Dobbs specialises in fitness instruction, personal training, exercise rehabilitation, fitness and nutrition for children, optimum and sports nutrition, weight management, fitness evaluations, sports performance, power and speed training, core, balance and flexibility fitness and postural analysis and correctional exercises.
Dobbs’ newest classes will be available to existing fitness participants who may wish to extend their knowledge and ability and new people who need that confidence and guidance to start a productive and safe fitness program.
The classes are open to all females, including younger girls – Dobbs is a qualified instructor of children with a current police clearance and a working with children’s licence.
There will be gym induction sessions, both on a one-to-one basis and group sessions and four personal training packages worth $350 to be won.
Individual (one-to-one) gym induction sessions will introduce people to the gymnasium environment and fitness world.
“This would allow individuals to spend time with me as I show them around the gym and we can start to discuss their own personal fitness and health needs,” Dobbs said.
These sessions will take place on Thursday, February 16.
Email Dobbs to express your interest and book an appointment, as places will be limited.
There will be three group induction sessions, catering for up to 10 people in each, offering an introduction to the gymnasium environment.
“This will not be as personal; it will cater more for the beginner, to gain that confidence and knowledge to start a productive training regime,” Dobbs said.
These will take place on Saturday, February 18, at 1.30pm and 3.30pm and Sunday, February 19, at 1.30pm.
“If you are lucky enough to attend an induction session, either in a one-to-one or group session, your name will get put into a draw to win an awesome personal training package worth $350,” Dobbs said.
This personal training package will include a fitness evaluation, a full health and fitness screening process, program planning and four personal training sessions to educate the individual to start achieving their own personal goals.
“In the personal training sessions we cover fitness, motivation, training planning and development, basic nutrition, sports specific training and nutrition, injury maintenance and rehabilitation, postural analysis and correctional exercises,” Dobbs said.
“Also included is advice to help the individual build the knowledge to train within their own ability, to gain self-motivation and to build the importance of training for life.”
People who are keen to take up this one-off opportunity should email Dobbs at ruralfitness@westnet.com.au.
“It is first come first served so contact me as soon as possible as places are limited and will go very quickly,” Dobbs said.
