BOYUP Brook Clay Target Club captain Jamie Mackean presented the 2011 Captain’s Shield to Finn Staniforth-Smith at the annual ‘pig on a spit’ closing shoot.
Staniforth-Smith achieved the highest average score and competed in the most number of club shoots throughout the year.
Club members arrived early, helping to organise the trap equipment for the long afternoon and night ahead.
Staniforth-Smith transformed into a respectable coach, teaching some keen Irish backpackers how to shoot in the morning.
Todd Atherton arrived early setting up his legendary ‘pig on a spit’ which roasted slowly the whole afternoon.
The shoot started at 12pm with competitors arriving from all over the South West region.
The first event was the Collie Toyota 100DB which was sponsored with many prizes including Toyota jackets, bags and a $100 service voucher.
This event was won outright by Gavin Prowse (Busselton) scoring 99/100.
