BRIDGETOWN Lawn Tennis Club has been one of the lucky recipients of a Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Community grant.
The club received $800 which will go towards new equipment and coaching for the club’s junior memberss.
The grant was part of the Woolworths Fresh Food Kids Community Grant program, a campaign aimed at supporting grassroots initiatives for primary school-aged children and encouraging good nutrition and exercise.
Bridgetown Lawn Tennis Club Junior coordinator, Tania Evans, said it was a great opportunity for the club to help promote junior tennis and to ensure that better equipment and more coaching opportunities would be made available to the young members.
“This grant will benefit our young tennis players to better train them as it allows our club to provide equipment and coaching that we wouldn’t otherwise be able to provide,” Mrs Evans said.
“I would like to thank Woolworths’ for the grant opportunity and to committee member Natalie Clynch for her efforts in gaining this grant and for her commitment to the tennis club.”
Woolworths has distributed more than $2 million as part of its 2010 community grants program.
