ANZAC Day services attracted strong crowds across the region, as people paused to reflect on the sacrifices made.
Donnybrook RSL sub-branch president Damian Dixon was pleased with how its service went.
"It was excellent, just brilliant," he said.
"We had 400 at our dawn service and about 600 at the main service.
"We have a great community spirit, everyone stayed around for the sausage sizzle."
He said a lot of effort was required, with the special flyover conducted during the service taking four months of organisation.
"It takes a lot of planning, but it's worth it to see people's faces," he said.
"We get nervous and just hope everything goes off without a hitch, and it did."
