THE staff at Henri Nouwen House in Bridgetown offer support programs for positive change for people who feel their life is starting to get out of control.
Recently staff distributed comfort packs containing a tea bag and a biscuit together with information on the programs they run to give people a chance for positive change in their lives.
Henri Nouwen House was first established in 1992 as the South West branch of Holyoake, offering support and education to families affected by alcohol or drug dependency.
Today 'Henri's' operates independently to provide a number of support programs and services to individuals and families who may be experiencing crisis of all kinds: alcoholism, drug dependency, relationship breakdown, domestic violence, physical or sexual abuse, or loss of a loved one.
There are also programs for young people experiencing distress in their lives.Henri's is a community-based, not-for-profit organization that is mainly staffed by volunteers and funded independently with some assistance from local shires.
Henri Nouwen House is currently open on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9 am to 3.30 pm at 16 Hester Street, Bridgetown and can be reached on 9761 2027.
