A FURTHER three detainees escaped Yongah Hill Immigration Detention Centre about 2pm yesterday.
The trio scaled the fences in broad daylight with one being recaptured within about five minutes.
The other two have yet to be found.
This brings the total of Yongah Hill detainees on the run to three, with a Vietnamese detainee who escaped on the night of December 27.
After that escape, Immigration minister Scott Morrison said there would be an investigation and he would be seek answers from prison contractor Serco.
Northam Shire president Steven Pollard said he was advised earlier this month two escape attempts had been made but were unsuccessful.
"It is disappointing," Mr Pollard said.
"The security needs to be reviewed up there.
"The Community Reference Group will try and meet this month to officially express we are not happy with the situation."
The heat has been on Serco after two prisoners kicked their way out of one of their prison vans at Geraldton airport.
The pair were recaptured after an expensive police manhunt.
After the incident, Corrective services minister Joe Francis made himself clear.
"I have significant concerns, growing concerns with Serco's performance," Mr Francis said.
"They are starting to skate on very thin ice; they need to lift their game.
"At the end of the day that's Serco - they have to bear the responsibility of their failings."
