Donnybrook had an improved season last year due mainly to the help of Hayward medallist Jeff Smith.
But can a side with so little depth challenge for much longer?
The Dons were no longer taken lightly by other sides in 2013 and causing upsets became something for Donnybrook to look forward to each week, but the side still needs to bolster its ranks a bit more.
The Dons have lost far too many of their high quality players to be considered a threat in big games this year with Kris Clarkson, Daniel Bilson and Chris Billings all departing the club.
Tall players around the ground are something Donnybrook has a good stack of but their running stocks could do with a few additions.
Curtis Guglielmana and his brother Jarrad always give everything they have but without support they will struggle against the top sides when receiving a lot of focus.
The addition of two WAFL level players in Jason Brennan and Simon Parry will perhaps give Donnybrook a certain edge at different positions.
The Dons possess the same problem as Harvey in that their locals are good players but there is no depth in relying on locals.
It will be an interesting season for Donnybrook but without good young players coming through and a lack of depth, it’s hard to see Donnybrook progressing much this season.
