TWENTY-six women joined the Bridgetown Big Pram Walk to help raise awareness of the debilitating effects of postnatal and antenatal depression.
Setting off at a strong pace the group made good time on the walk from the Bridgetown Playgroup to the Somme Creek Recreation Park, just off Steere Street.
Physical changes during pregnancy can affect emotions and moods and being a parent can be very different to the expectations of both mother and father.
Many women experience the "baby blues" in the early days after the birth and most parents take time to adjust to the very different life with a baby.
The Big Pram Walk was to acknowledge that many things can change with the arrival of a baby and to make people aware that help is on hand for those who want it.
The earlier help is sought the faster recovery can start.
