MORE than 50 people turned up at the recent double book launch at the Bridgetown Library for author Sarah Evans and her son, artist and illustrator Gabriel.
Ms Evans was launching her debut crime novel, Operation Paradise as well as an e-novel Prudence and the mighty Flynn together with a short story collection with the titles of Call of the Wild, New Blood and Killing Kindness and Bare Bones.
Her son launched his latest art work in a book by popular children's author, Dianne Wolfer, called Annie's Snails.
"Many signed books were sold, and much food and wine was consumed," Ms Evans said.
The launch started off with a well-received speech by librarian Kathy Matthews. The door prize was won by Katie Bullock.
In her response Ms Evans thanked the people who had come along to the launch.
She also thanked the Bridgetown Cidery for its donation of soft cider and IGA for its assistance with the food.
Ms Matthews and the library staff received a round of applause for hosting the launch.
"It was a real community affair," Ms Evans said.
Gabriel Evans will hold another launch at the Fremantle Literature Centre with author Dianne Wolfer.
His mother will have another launch in Bunbury on May 1 to kick off the Bunbury Library's Marvel-ous May month focussing on superheroes and villains.
