THE Boyup Brook District High School Master Plan Group has been busily working over the past nine months to put projects into place at both primary and middle school sites.
These projects have been based on the master plan which was developed and finalised in February last year through consultation with parents, staff, community members and an architect.
On March 8 and 9 work began at the primary site with volunteers starting to dig and compact trenches, level, back fill sand, lay limestone blocks and mix cement below the current eating area.
Levels have been created to maximise the use of the sloping site and this area will hopefully be used for seating, outdoor performances, and maybe even a movie or two.
Progress was made at a rapid rate due to the enthusiasm and dedication of the working team.
The project could not have taken place without the hard work of the Parents and Citizens Association which last year dedicated $15,000 to Master Plan projects for this year.
It is the commitment of the P&C that enables such significant projects such as these to take place in the school and anyone who may be interested in supporting the school in some way is urged to come along to a P&C meeting or lend a hand at future fundraisers, as all money benefits the children.
The school extends its thanks to the volunteers who gave up their weekend to make the project happen, including the students who showed incredible spirit and determination by lending a hand to the volunteers and workmen.
Also to Colin and Janet Roney from Blackwood Excavations who helped make the activities happen.
A great sense of pride is felt when a task of this nature is completed.
