BLACKWOOD men's team travelled to Capel at the weekend to face a fired up home team who slotted four goals past Manjimup last Sunday.
Due to a number of injuries and holidays Blackwood could only field ten players.
They weathered the early pressure after some fine work in the box by Kyle Gordon, back for his first game, when he laid a crisp pass to veteran Steve Hawkins who took a touch and stroked it past the keeper.
Capel got straight back into their stride and a short while later it was one apiece.
Blackwood bounced back from this and pressed for another goal for most of the first half then allowed an easy goal for Capel to go in at the break 2-1 up.
The second half got under way with chances created by both teams but the heat and lack of players allowed the home team to get on top.
Blackwood, unable to bring on any fresh legs, were forced deeper and deeper into their own half allowing Capel to run out winners by seven goals to one.
Goal scorer Steve Hawkins 1. Training is at Balingup oval on Wednesday at 6pm.
