ON Sunday Dynamos put a stop to the Blackwood women making it to second spot on the reserves league ladder with a tough fight for the three points.
Blackwood held Dynamos out for most of the first half but one of their young wingers got away and struck a good one into the back of the net from well out.
It stayed one-nil for the rest of the half with Blackwood missing a few chances at goals but controlling the ball for most of the time.
There were lots of great one-twos down the wing resulting in some lovely crosses, which just couldn't be finished off.
Keeper Sarah Dalton put up a huge fight in goals and saved some awesome one on one charges at goals.
Strong defence again from Vikki Thomson, Daniel Mauger, Virginia Southwell and Casey McGurk kept the score at bay until the second half.
After regrouping in the change rooms the Blackwood women came out with a positive attitude and a renewed will to win.
The great team-work and work rate showed with everyone giving 100 per cent.
Dynamos then unfortunately got another goal due to a miscommunication between the defenses taking it to two-nil.
Blackwood's Molly Hawkins was then pinged for a very dubious offside after she worked her way through the defense with the ball to put herself right in front of goals.
Her team-mate was unluckily standing offside and the linesman called it offside.
Hawkins could have given her team the momentum they needed to take back the game but it wasn't to be.
Blackwood fought on and held possession of the ball for most of the remaining half but still could not get a decent shot on goals.
Dynamos managed another break through the Blackwood defences and scored another sneaky one into the corner.
Dalton took a great diving save but just couldn't hold the ball and it skidded on through.
This made it a three-nil win to the visitors.
The Blackwood players should be proud of their efforts as they showed that they are very competitive against a top quality side in Dynamos.
Great sportsmanship and teamwork made it a very good game for the spectators and one of Blackwood's best games of the season.
