Bridgetown Theatre urgently needs volunteers to work with two of their youth groups or they may not reopen in 2015.
The two groups are a pleasure to work with as each member develops their skills, abilities and personal confidence through the programs offered.
The theatre currently has one main leader for each group for next year, but three more leaders are required for each section. Unfortunately, if leaders are not forthcoming, both groups may not reopen in 2015.
THE two Bridgetown Theatre Youth Groups, Kids Acting On Stage (KAOS) and Bridgetown Youth Theatre (BYT), showcased their skills at their recent concert.
The audience was met at the door by BYT members Dusti Fox and Olivia Hegney who, in a very professional manner, welcomed visitors to the theatre. The whole program was then compered by members of the BYT group.
The members of KAOS, the 8 to 12 year olds, performed two shorty plays, ‘An Unexpected Kidnap’ and ‘Pirates’, which they had written themselves. The story line was very credible and the performance was enjoyed by the audience.
Members of the BYT group performed two short plays as a starter for their part of the program, ‘The Mafia Interview’ performed by Max Curry, Billie Vanderspil and Laura Wood, and ‘The Bridge’ performed by Georgia Tillman and Brooke Suiter.
Soloists for the concert were Madi Harrison, Max Curry and Faith Nitschke, while a duet was performed by Dusty Fox and Olivia Hegney.
To finish off the program, the members of BYT then performed a shortened version of ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.’ Each of the performers did an excellent job, and the whole play received a resounding applause as the final curtain closed.
Bridgetown Theatre urgently needs volunteers to work with both youth groups in 2015. For further information about working as a volunteer leader or assistant, please call the Theatre’s Secretary, Christine, on 9761 4003.
