Ros Price, Yvette Buxton, Pam McRorie and Mary Kerklaan proudly display the poppies they have made so far.
POPPIES are blooming in Balingup – but not in the way you’d expect.
A garden of 252 bright red knitted, crocheted and felted poppies is on display in Balingup, created by ladies who belong to the Patches and Craft and Book Club.
The ladies haven’t finished yet, either – their goal is to make 436 poppies, one for each soldier who was recruited from the Balingup-Greenbushes area to fight in World War One. They plan to have the full amount by Anzac Day 2015.
The Poppies are on display at the Balingup Museum, which is located in the Packing Shed Balingup and open to the public.
