BALINGUP residents will sadly miss one of their number who has passed away after a long battle with cancer.
Sara MacLean passed away at eleven minutes to eleven on the night of Sunday January 11, at home on her property, after five years of treatment for lung cancer.
Sara was an enthusiastic and active member of numerous committees in town, who who wrote for the Preston Press, was a member of the Medieval Carnival Committee, Donnybrook Community Radio and the Golden Valley Tree Park, assisted at the Origins Centre and volunteered at Maroo Wildlife sanctuary – as well as running a major fundraiser for them.
She also helped people with their printing, with writing grants and with getting two local organisations incorporated.
A memorial will be held for Sara on Saturday January 17 at 4.30pm at the Balingup Medieval Carnival Shed. Everyone is welcome to attend.
