Netball
THE SouWest Jets confidence was up after last weekend’s game, following a 65-39 point win against the South East Demons.
The Souwest Jets are the regions state league representative team. They compete in the 'Smarter than Smoking Netball WA State Netball League', with many games played in Perth and home games being played in Bunbury.
After a pre-season trip to New Zealand, the team returned ready to take on any opponent with a real focus on creating intercepts.
Souwest Jets assistant coach Megan Burvil, from Bridgetown, said it was great to see all the hard work and training while in New Zealand was starting to pay off.
"This is probably the first time our girls have been in a winning position early in a game and really pushed on to have a truly convincing win," Burvil said. "The hard work in NZ is certainly showing because it is the intercepts and turnovers from the opposition that is making a big difference."
Locals Asha Bygraves from Bridgetown, Courtney Babich from Donnybrook and Shantelle Tassone from Mullalyup have all played an integral part in the team's success.
"Our local girls have played some exciting netball so far this season and are having a really positive impact on the outcome of each and every game," Burvil said. "It is exciting to watch and we appreciate everyone that comes to support our games."
The next home game is on Sunday March 15.
