TALISON Lithium and Qube Transport and Logistics held a truck safety session at Balingup Primary School to raise awareness about safe behaviour around road trains recently.
Qube transports lithium minerals from Talison’s Greenbushes Operations through to the Bunbury Port. For the past three years, both companies have combined to present safety awareness sessions at schools in Balingup, Kirup and Greenbushes.
These towns are located on the South Western Highway, which is the haul route for the product.
The most recent session featured a new model side tipper truck which is currently being trialled by Qube.
Students were given the opportunity to sit in the cab of the truck and walk around the vehicle to gain an awareness of size and the safe distance required when standing on a footpath when trucks are passing.
