THE Blackwood Ravens held their inaugural uniform presentation night last week with family, friends and supporters as they prepared to participate in the South West Football Netball competition this season for the first time.
The team consists of local 13 to 15 year old girls, who will be competing in the Under 17 competition, playing against Harvey, Donnybrook, Busselton, Carey Park, Eaton, Bunbury and South Bunbury.
Ravens coach Megan Burvill said it would be exciting to watch this team develop as they compete in such a challenging competition for the first time.
"They are a young team playing in the Under 17 competition, however they bring with them plenty of skill and speed," Mrs Burvill said.
"They have been training hard during the summer and will be ready for their first game in a few weeks.
"We presented players with their new uniforms thanks to sponsorship from Bstategic and Bannister Downs who have paid for uniforms and equipment."
"The girls will have nine home games and would love lots of support at these games," Mrs Burvill said.
"Home games will be advertised at the Recreation Centre and in the local newspapers so please come along and support these talented young girls as they do their best to match it with the best in the region."
