THE much anticipated Nannup Lions Auction was held at the Recreation Centre on Saturday May 30, with a strong turnout on what was a cool crisp morning with temperatures hovering around 2-3 degrees.
Prospective bidders from Nannup and those visitors who make the annual pilgrimage to the event were rugged up whilst they browsed the rows of items up for grabs with curiosity.
Tables and rows were filled with such items as books, crockery, toys, kitchenalia, tools, electrical goods, ironing boards, lounges, linen, desks, artworks and even a giant stuffed toy fluffy dog.
At 9am Joe Twiss started the Auction with items on the toy table, much to the children's delight, with bids coming in thick and fast.
It was noted that the Nannup Lions had outdone themselves this year with the layout and organisation of items up for auction. There were many generous donations made, with some great quality goods. A beautiful antique hall stand was a popular item, along with a lovely dining table. As with every year, there were a few unique and quirky items.
What Nannup Lions auction would be without morning tea, raffles and the renowned sausage sizzle? All of this kept the people happy and ready to come again next year.
