FORMER Boyup Brook Women’s Hockey teammates Angela Chilwell and Jodi Nield faced each other on opposing sides in a scratch match for the state teams they are members of on July 19.
Chilwell is about to compete in the School Sport Interstate Hockey 16s Championship from August 2-8 in Perth and Nield has recently been selected to represent Western Australia in the Over 35 Masters Women’s team, which will travel to Brisbane in September.
The Under 16 team took the honours and bragging rights from the match, but Nield said, “It was our (Masters’) first training run and we were still learning each other’s names!”
As a former teammate and junior coach of the teenager, Nield said, “It is a pleasure to see Angela developing as a player. Her work ethic is amazing and she will thrive at this level of competition.”
