BALINGUP photographer Sam Harris signed copies and shared his personal story at the release of his new photo book The Middle of Somewhere on Saturday August 1.
The Middle of Somewhere spans a twelve-year period in the life of the photographer’s family, from their bold decision to leave the rat race in London in search of a simpler existence. A Travelogue insert is included in the book from the family’s life on the road in Australia and in villages in India where they lived for several years and birthed their second daughter.
The Middle of Somewhere has received much praise and global attention and was launched in New York’s Bronx Documentary Centre and in London’s Photographers’ Gallery.
The official Australian launch will be held at the Ballarat International Photo Biennale later in August.
The book was recently shortlisted for the prestigious Les Rescontur d’Arles Book Prize.
The book is available for purchase on-line at ceibafoto.com or directly from the Harris family, call 0488 910 126.
