THE Aussie Host training program for women was hosted by Bridgetown Community Resource Centre (CRC) with facilitator Julie Bucknell from CRC Katanning last week.
Aussie Host is a nationally recognised program designed to upgrade the standards of service and hospitality provided to a customer in any service environment. The program was funded by a grant received from the Department of Local Government and Communities, which allowed the Bridgetown CRC to provide the program at a significantly reduced rate for women. Men were allowed to attend but were required to pay the full cost of the course.
A total of 26 participants enjoyed learning about customer service and experienced a humorous and interactive day with 11 students from Bridgetown High School, who were sponsored by the Bridgetown High School P&C and Rotary Bridgetown.
Bridgetown CRC Manager John Nicholas said the workshop was a huge success and the feedback from participants was very positive.
"We are extremely pleased with the turnout of women who participated in this program," Mr Nicholas said. "And we are grateful for the support we received from the School P&C and Rotary for sponsoring the high school students.
"The feedback from participants was extremely positive and we believe that the program will enable those who participated to be better equipped to enter the workforce or will have gained knowledge which will support them in their current employment.
"We are also very appreciative of the Department of Local Government and Communities support with the grant funds that made the program deliverable."
