TWO gardens will open in Balingup on Saturday October 31 and Sunday November to help raise awareness and funds for Bravehearts, an organisation dedicated to keeping children safe from sexual assault.
Rivergums on 57 Grimwade Road and Ellendale Farm on 83 Westlington Road will open on the Saturday from 11am-2pm and on the Sunday from 10am-3pm.
There will be teas and plant sales for visitors, as well as live music from Bridgetown musician Mary Myfanwy on the Sunday at Rivergums.
Di Whincop of Rivergums said she wanted to help raise awareness of the incredible job Bravehearts did in the community in helping to protect children.
“They have developed a wonderful program, known as "Ditto in a Box", and I encourage you to visit their website to understand more of what they actually do,” she said.
In keeping with the theme of plants, the Balingup and Districts Tourism Association will be running a unique Chair Art Auction over the same weekend as a fundraiser for the Visitors Centre. The delightful main street of Balingup will become a gallery, decorated with up-cycled vintage chairs. For more information visit the website.
