A UNIQUE community art installation by local artist Rod Laws was stolen from the Foreshore Park in Nannup over the weekend of November 20-22.
Nannup Shire Chief Executive Peter Clarke said the theft was extremely disappointing.
“The brazen way in which the seat was removed suggests that it was a targeted theft,” Mr Clarke said.
“The local artist, Mr Laws, had designed the work to commemorate the arrival of the Munda Bidi Trail to Nannup and had obviously spent many dedicated hours to produce the relevant piece. It was placed in an area that could be enjoyed by the community.”
Mr Clarke was hopeful the artwork could be returned to its rightful place.
Anyone with information on the theft can contact the Nannup Police on 9756 3555 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
