THE Bridgetown-Greenbushes visitor centre will have a share in more than $80,000 worth of grant funding from the state government.
Bridgetown-Greenbushes along with Northcliffe, Pemberton, Walpole and Nannup visitors’ centres have all benefited from the first round of government grants designed to grow regional tourism.
Robyn McSweeney MLC said the Bridgetown-Greenbushes Visitor Centre would receive $6,250, which would support innovation to help sustain and grow local tourism.
"These grants will empower local centres to compete in an online world where more people are making internet bookings," Mrs McSweeney said.
"Support for innovation will help sustain and grow the tourism sector, which means more jobs and opportunities in our communities.”
Round two of the $4.2 million, three year program will be launched in March 2016 and Mrs McSweeney is encouraging local government and all visitor centres to apply for the grants.
