EXCITEMENT is building in Bridgetown as the newly built swimming pools are finally being filled with water.
The small pool has already been filled, taking only half a day to fill up, while the larger pool took two full days to completely fill, due to finish on the evening of Friday February 5.
The lawn is scheduled to be laid on February 9 and 10, while the painting of the buildings inside and out is almost complete and outdoor furniture is about to be set up on the decks.
Bridgetown-Greenbushes Shire Chief Executive Tim Clynch said it was getting very close to being completed and an opening date would be confirmed very soon.
"Once the pools are filled we can do some testing on the pump systems and then the Health Department will come and inspect the facilities and give the all-clear to operate as a public pool," Mr Clynch said. "Once this is completed the Shire will be able to confirm when the pool facilities can be opened to the public.”
