BRIDGETOWN business owner, Damien Bell attended the National Open Karate Championship in Sydney on April 15 - 17 taking out 3rd place in the Veterans competition.
Sensai Damien enjoyed representing W.A at the competition and was pleased with the results.
“I was competing against representatives aged 35 years to 45 years from Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland in this competition so I am happy with coming in third,” he said.
As well as competing, Sensai Damien teaches Karate to a dedicated group of students as well as running the Ooh La Lollipop shop in Bridgetown with his wife Rochelle.
“I run classes in Greenbushes and Bridgetown four times a week and have about 20 very dedicated students at the moment,” he said.
“My students are aged from 5 years and up to about 65 years with the bulk of them being between 6 and 14 years.”
