The Blackwood River Rally in the Valley winners for 2016 are Kathy Irvine from Bridgetown with Cheryl Ciccotosto from Waroona winning the second chance draw.
The “Rally in the Valley” is a guided, interactive self-drive tour of the of the region run throughout the month of April.
It features recommended stops of interest for visitors and locals alike. The Rally offers excellent family-fun, a wide range of diverse attractions and “pick-your-own” experiences.
Rally in the Valley Coordinator, Jan Retallack described the event as another great success and the winner as very deserving.
‘Kathy and her partner Karl stopped at every “port of call” during Rally in the Valley and were very deserving winners,” Mrs Retallack said.
“Kathy is a new resident of Bridgetown and she said they found the rally a great way to explore their new surroundings and the nearby towns, taking them to towns they wouldn't otherwise have ventured to.”
Over 125 kits were picked up from various outlets in the Blackwood River Valley during the month of April which was an increased number of participants on previous years.
Mrs Retallack said the feedback received was positive and validated all that exemplifies the Blackwood River Valley region.
Second chance draw winner Cheryl Ciccotosto said that she enjoyed the opportunity to visit a number of towns while in the Blackwood River Valley region and would happily recommend the rally to friends and family.
“We visited Lake Towerrinning, Boyup Brook, Bridgetown, Balingup, Greenbushes and Nannup and would like to extend our congratulations and thanks to all concerned,” Ms Ciccotosto said.
“The organisers, the businesses, the discovery and visitor centres and all the helpful and friendly locals, including the knowledgeable and helpful children at Greenbushes Discovery Centre and Greenbushes Pool, who all went out of their way to be of assistance, I would like to thank you all.”
Mrs Retallack expressed thanks to the rally’s major sponsors including the South West Development Commission, the Donnybrook-Bridgetown-Manjimup Mail and the shires of Boyup Brook, Nannup, Donnybrook-Balingup and Bridgetown-Greenbsuhes.
