RESIDENTS of all ages are enjoying the improved range of programs and facilities on offer at the Bridgetown Leisure Centre following the recent opening of the new pool.
With a number of changes at the leisure centre since the pool opened, including a new ‘spring’ wood floor in the upstairs fitness room, a 24 hour gymnasium and a number of new fitness programs on offer, centre staff are keen to showcase the new and improved facilities.
Leisure Centre Health and Fitness Coordinator Justine Mackay said it was exciting times with the leisure centre providing a great choice of programs to ensure there was something for everyone.
“It is very exciting now that the pool has opened and we have this first-class facility available in our community,” said Ms Mackay.
“The Bridgetown Leisure Centre offers programs and facilities that provide everyone in the community an opportunity to keep fit and live a healthy life.
“With society’s attitude towards health and fitness changing, more people than ever before are becoming aware of the need to be positive about their health and to recognise the importance of physical fitness.”
Among the many fitness choices available, one of Ms Mackays favourite new classes is CXWORX, which is aimed at helping individuals strengthen core muscles.
“CXWORX is a 30 minute core training workout which uses resistance bands and weights to tighten and tone your muscles,” she said.
“The best part of this exercise is that it’s challenging but achievable for every individuals own fitness levels, so it is suitable to all levels of fitness and ability and is just one way to ensure positive health.
“Positive health is about maintaining a minimum level of well-being and fitness to keep your body looking and feeling good as well as maintaining a level of physical fitness that will enable everyone to manage and enjoy their daily lifestyle at all ages.”
