Youth from all over the South West enjoyed performing at the 2016 OUCH Festival on Friday June 24 and Saturday June 25.
The festival is organised and run by local youth members under the guidance of Chris Shedley and supported by the Bridgetown Rotary Club as part of their services for local youth.
The festival, which started over fifteen years ago and this year a record number of performers enjoyed the opportunity to show their talents with dancers, musicians and actors enjoying the lime-light along with a number of youth performing a fashion parade showing off clothes from the Bridgetown YEOp shop.
Students from Bridgetown High School have been organising the festival with weekly meetings held during their lunch breaks. Chris Shedley said it was a great success and good to see a variety of acts and initiatives this year.
“It was a very different program this year as we had a lot more solo dancers and singers which was great,” Mr Shedley said, “and the theatre group really added a bit to the complexity to it.
“It was nice to have so many performers from out of town as well as the locals.”
