Greenbushes Golf Club Captain, Wally Hornby, was pleasantly surprised as he watched the ball he hit go 140 metres straight into the 13th hole, achieving his first ever hole-in-one during the club’s weekly Wednesday competition on June 15.
Sponsored by Blackwood Butchers, the day will be forever embedded in Hornby’s mind, as his achievement becomes only the fifth hole-in-one in the past four years at the club with Hornby pleased to have achieved such a big moment on lucky number 13.
In other club news, a great day out was had by all who played on Saturday June 18 in support of local business owner Pip Mills, who has been an avid supporter of the Greenbushes Golf Club and many other organisations and businesses in the community.
Club member Richard Walker decided to organise the event to show the communities support to Pip as she recovers from a recent illness and thanked the Greenbushes and Bridgetown businesses, golfers and everyone else who kindly supported the competition.
