A Donnybrook man is pleased to take a step back from the busy life of running a business.
Now-employee Gary Newman owned Autopro Donnybrook for 12 years with wife Sue.
Repco acquired the shop and reopened with its own automotive parts and accessories on July 1.
Mr Newman put his business on the market 12 months ago.
“We have been involved with many groups and clubs in our time here in business and have had great support from the community.”
The Donnybrook store – located at 96 S Western Hwy – now has access to more than 450,000 auto parts and products.
“I think it’s the first retail corporate store in Donnybrook that I know of,” he said.
“I believe this acquisition says a lot about the future of our town. If bigger companies can see value in investing in our town, then that bodes well for our town’s future.”
Phillip Houston, Repco Western Australia zone general manager, is backing long-term growth and opportunities in Donnybrook and the surrounding region.
“The smooth transition of the acquisition speaks volumes of the confidence and trust that the owners at Autopro Donnybrook have in Repco to take this highly regarded business to the next level,” Mr Houston said.
“Customers can look forward to the store being transformed over the next few months with advanced systems and a significant increase in parts, tools and accessory ranges.”
