LSWFL rd 17: Imperials, Bridgetown notch 100+ point victories

Imperials kicked off the seventeenth and final round on Saturday with a 135 demolition of Tigers. 

Clinton Zabaznow topped the list of goalscorers for the Magpies with seven majors in a game where Imperials piled on eight unanswered goals in the final term to triumph 24.22.166 to 4.7.31. 

Bridgetown were equally convincing with a 146 point trouncing of Kojonup.

In what can only be described as a field day for the Bulldogs, they added 10 goals in the third term and seven in the last quarter to prevail 27.15.177 to 4.7.31. 

Brett Wilson kicked nine majors for the visitors while Rodney Jetta kicked seven and Kyle Wilson slotted five.

Southerners finished the year in second place ahead of Deanmill on percentage thanks to a win over the Hawks on Sunday. 

The Southerners side led 7.6.48 to 3.5.23 at the half and kicked away to win 11.16.82 to 5.7.37. 

Jordan Aitken kicked three goals for Southerners while Mitchell Decampo and Leigh Scaini each kicked two.  

Hawks goal kicking machine Brynn Francis was held to just one major.

This Sunday, Southerners and Bridgetown will meet in the first semi final with Imperials and Deanmill set to play the second semi final a week later. The preliminary final will be September 4 before the grand final on September 11.
