FIRST class constable Sean Hawkins is the newest face at Bridgetown Police Station, providing a full complement of staff for the first time in over a year.
Constable Hawkins has been a police officer for nine years, and is looking forward to a cooler change in climate after spending the past two years in Carnarvon.
“It is a fair bit colder here than where I have been working up north, but I am looking forward to working here in summer where it will be considerably busier than it is up north during the peak of summer,” Hawkins said.
“I really enjoy my job, as you get to see a lot of things that you wouldn’t normally get to see and it really is a great way to help other people.”
Bridgetown Police Station OIC sergeant Phil Nation said it was great to finally have a full team of staff, which would benefit the whole community.
“This is the first time for about 18 months that we have had full numbers,” Nation said.
“It is really good for us and for the town as we head into the busier months and you will see us out and about more now, with officers walking the streets and the traffic car out and about more.
“We are all looking forward to working with the community to enhance positive relationships and to ensure a safe place for everyone to live.”
