The weekend’s football action wasn’t just confined to the adult competition, with the South West Junior Football League grand finals crowning the next generation of champions.
The Dunsborough Sharks year sevens played the Eaton Eagles year sevens and notched goals through Jake Schwier, Jack Dollison and Caydhen Black.
But the Eagles proved too strong, kicking 4.9 to win the match by 12 points.
The other year seven grand final had Marist up against the Collie Eagles. The Marist side were strong all around the ground and ran away with the win 12.7.79 to 3.1.19. Beshaun Maher kicked three goals for Marist while Barry Narkle and Marcus Stack both kicked two.
South Bunbury White took the honours in the first year eight grand final, defeating Donnybrook by 21 points.
Chad Montgomerie, Jake Robert Bennett and Brady Dillon each kicked two goals to help the Tigers to 8.9.57 while Adrian Hodgetts and Joshua Cusato both kicked two as the Dons finished 5.6.36.
The second year eight final saw Collie claim a flag over the Dunsborough Sharks 4.5.29 to 1.7.13.
Just three points separated the two sides fighting out the year nine grand final.
In the end, the Dunsborough Sharks held on 7.7.49 to 7.4.46 over Bunbury. Sharks Aaron Keenan and Jude Faulkner both kicked two goals while Malik Davis nailed three for the Bulldogs.
The year 10 grand final saw the Eaton Eagles score a flag against the Augusta-Margaret River Hawks – a third time the same playing group has won a grand final.
To finish the evening, the year 11 grand final saw Bunbury secure a win over Harvey-Brunswick-Leschenault.
