Joining many thousands of people across Australia in supporting research into Leukaemia, more than 50 locals turned out for the Light the Night walk in Bridgetown last Friday carrying blue, gold and white lanterns.
Just over $1500 was raised from donations, purchases of lanterns and a cake stall held last weekend.
"It looked marvellous as people were walking along and the sight of the lanterns bobbing along the dark streets was just unbelievable,” organiser Maggie Neale said.
“The generosity of the Bridgetown residents, the Masonic Lodge members for cooking the snags and the support of the Bridgetown and Manjimup retailers with their generous donations has been fantastic and I would like to thank them.”
