Donnybrook’s RAC Electric Highway charging station on Crowley Pl has been a popular choice with electric vehicle owners, the results have revealed more than one year since the launch of Australia’s first electric highway.
RAC general manager corporate affairs Will Golsby said since the launch in June last year, 90 per cent of WA’s electric vehicle drivers have registered to use it.
“In just 12 months, the highway itself has provided more than 2223 charging sessions. This is equivalent to 185 charging sessions per month, and almost 50 charging sessions a week,” Golsby said.
“We expect to see usage of the highway continue to grow as more electric vehicles appear on our roads.”
Donnybrook ranked eighth most popular charging station in WA from July 2015 to June 2016 with 56 charging sessions.
Unsurprisingly, the most popular were Perth’s charging station with 971 charging sessions in the period, followed by Mandurah’s with 463 sessions.
