Donnybrook District High School will conduct its annual Kids On Canvas art exhibition next month.
The event is designed to showcase the artistic talents of Donnybrook students and is open to the wider community to view their works of art.
Sue Jessop, art teacher, said there would be about 300 pieces for the public to view across the four days.
“The exhibition isn't necessarily about excellence, although there is some good work here,” Jessop said.
“It’s about showcasing what the students have done.”
The art students were working hard towards the opening evening, she said.
They each selected a renowned artist whose style they pulled influence from.
Awards will be up for grabs, including: People’s Choice Award, Best Artwork 4-10, and the prestigious Framer’s Prize.
Some of the artwork will be selected for sale.
The Kids on Canvas art exhibition will be held in the art room at DDHS featuring works of art created throughout the year by art students.
The four-day exhibition will start on November 8 at 10am and run to 12pm on November 11, and will be open to the public during school hours by appointment only at the Donnybrook District High School Bentley St campus.
A gold coin donation is appreciated to view the exhibition and tea and coffee facilities will be available for Kids on Canvas 2016 from November 8 to 11.
The opening night for adults – on November 7 from 5pm onwards – coincides with the Sounds of Sunset music review at 6.30pm, featuring the DDHS Whole School Band.
