Awesome entertainment, fabulous food, rides, showbags and icy cold drinks ensured another successful Bridgetown Show on the weekend, with thousands coming through the gates, despite sizzling temperatures.
The 128th annual Bridgetown Show was once again a great opportunity for locals to showcase their talents, prize livestock and produce.
Sideshow alley provided plenty of fun and opportunities for the younger generations to spend their pocket money and the fireworks at the end of the evening ensured the Carnival Fun themed show finished with a huge bang.
Bridgetown Agricultural Society President Ric Wheatley said the numbers through the gate this year may have been down a little due to the extremely hot weather, but it was as always a great event providing an opportunity for community members to catch up with each other.
“The show this year with the theme, ‘Roll up, Roll up for the Carnival Fun’ has really provided a great atmosphere for everyone to once again all get together,” he said.
“I would like to commend the committee for all their hard work throughout the year to ensure the success of the show and thanks to the many local contractors and businesses who donate the use of their equipment and produce.”
The Showgrounds are owned by the Bridgetown Agricultural Society, with money spent on maintenance and improvements raised throughout the year from various fundraisers activities.
“We hold a number of busy bees throughout the year to keep the grounds looking as good as they are, and are lucky to be able to raise a majority of our funds for this during the Blues weekend with our budget camping,” Ric said.
“It is just great to have such opportunities to provide funding so that you and your family can have a great day out and experience what is happening in the Agricultural sector.”
