Manjimup Senior High School principal Kerry Mather has been selected as one of 20 Independent Public School principals to spend a week at Harvard University in May 2017 as part of a leading development program.
Education minister Peter Collier said the principals would travel to the prestigious university in Boston to learn from the world's best at the Graduate School of Education.
The 20 principals were selected for their exemplary leadership, he said.
Each principal who completes the program will become an Independent Public School fellow.
The Hon Robyn McSweeney MLC extended her congratulations to Mather.
The principals will form a pool of skilled leaders who can act as mentors to other principals and contribute to school leadership development programs across Western Australia’s public schools.
“Kerry has already shown she can push the boundaries of what is possible and bring innovation into the classroom,” McSweeney said.
“Manjimup Senior High School has for many years, under Kerry’s leadership, achieved excellent results for students in our area.”
