Donnybrook Country Club is in the process of replacing its two grass bowling greens with one synthetic green and relocating it adjacent to the clubhouse.
Men’s Bowls Section treasurer Ted Rees said many local people and businesses had been generous with their support and sponsorship.
“The main preparatory work has been done, the laying off the synthetic turf is sort of the icing on the cake.”
Development on the club’s new green came to a grinding halt last October due to a fault in the synthetic surface.
Club vice-president Peter Oliver said they were back on track with a new schedule.
The $600,000 project is funded by the Shire of Donnybrook-Balingup Shire, the Department of Sport and Recreation, and the Donnybrook Country Club.
